Vision

The vision of Saint John Paul II High School Tutorial is to raise strong Catholic leaders who will actively pursue the unique missions given to them by Christ at baptism. Upon graduation, they will be fully equipped with the tools necessary to make a difference in their environment by impacting others to live with the same integrity, the mission bestowed upon them to be Disciples of Christ, models of Truth.

“The education of the moral conscience, which makes every human being capable of judging and of discerning the proper ways to achieve self-realization according to his or her original truth, thus becomes a pressing requirement that cannot be renounced.” (St. John Paul II)

Philosophy

“All men are called to the same end: God himself.” (CCC 1878)

All of us were created with a specific task to complete in our lifetime; that is, to know, love and serve God in anticipation of living with him in heaven. It is the philosophy of Saint John Paul II High School Tutorial to seek out Truth, not of our own desires, but Truth that is manifested in knowing God. Children who understand schooling as a response to this philosophy are less inclined to rely on external motivations and more inclined to excel for the greater glory of God. The universal purpose of education is to teach a student to recognize the Truth, assimilate this Truth, and teach this Truth to others. What is this Truth?

"Truth enlightens man's intelligence and shapes his freedom, leading him to know and love the Lord." (Saint John Paul II)

At Saint John Paul II High School Tutorial, we perceive Absolute Truth in that it teaches us that there are truths about God, ourselves, and our society that affect us.   The Catholic Church teaches that without Truth there is neither real happiness nor real freedom. In order to understand Truth, to be set free so that we may truly become who God intends us to be, we must form our conscience to recognize and exercise Absolute Truth.

"The education of the conscience guarantees freedom and engenders peace of heart." (CCC 1784).

This is the principle of Integral Formation as defined by St. Ignatius of Loyola, and is the core of the educational system employed at Saint John Paul II High School Tutorial. Most schools emphasize intellectual formation and may incorporate some human formation in the form of character development, but often lack spiritual and apostolic formation. However, all of these facets are important in developing as a fully cohesive Christian. An imbalance in any area weakens the whole. It is the philosophy of Saint John Paul II High School Tutorial to enlighten the mind, foster the heart, train the will and model the Truth. Truth will not be viewed as subjective. We stand firm on the motto of “Absolute Formation leads to Absolute Truth”. Thus, the graduate of Saint John Paul II High School Tutorial is a strong Catholic, fully integrated, ready to lead in any environment to which God calls him as a missionary witness of His Truth.

"The education of the moral conscience, which makes every human being capable of judging and of discerning the proper ways to achieve self-realization according to his or her original truth, thus becomes a pressing requirement that cannot be renounced."

- St. John Paul II

"The education of the moral conscience... cannot be renounced."
