Intellectual Formation

The Mind

Intellectual formation is gaining a wealth of knowledge in academics, culture, religion and current events through a particular branch of learning.  It is necessary as a part of one’s development, but it also plays an essential role in forming world leaders. While the academic expectations are set high, students will achieve solid intellectual formation at Saint John Paul II Academy by acquiring:

  • An ability to think, speak and write clearly, coherently, and concisely.  Experience and precision in debate and speech skills.

  • Decisiveness that distinguishes fact from fiction, truth from opinion and right from wrong.

  • Strong memorization, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

  • A Catholic perspective on how science, literature, writing, art, and historical ideals have shaped our society and concrete measures that will equip us with the tools needed to continue to make a positive impact.

"The education of the moral conscience... cannot be renounced."

Saint John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio
