The Soul

Spiritual Formation

  • Recognizing why we were created, understanding our purpose in life and striving toward fulfilling it.

  • Knowing and actively proclaiming the teachings of the Church, through such avenues as prayer, studying the lives of the saints, and Gospel reflections.

  • Developing a concrete discipline of virtue maintained through all venues of the community.

  • Meaningful awareness that God is love, Christ is our model, and through God’s graces and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we will act accordingly.

  • Understanding that without service and sacrifice, love bears little or no fruit.

  • Cultivating a righteous life by incorporating the virtue of the month and the integral formation into daily practice within the home and society.

  • An active commitment of forming the intellect, conscience, passions and emotions, and free will by seeking the Truth that leads to an unyielding acceptance of the Faith.

  • Living a sacramental life of grace and holiness that is reflective and influenced by a solid Catholic view of the world.

Spiritual formation is modeled after Christ himself.  Our goal is to help each member to  develop a deep, loving relationship with Christ that strongly convicts him or her to make righteous decisions and live an authentic, virtuous life. Saint John Paul II Academy will provide opportunities to live out the fullness of the Catholic faith through:

While all of these aspects are integrated throughout the school day, they are greatly manifested during Chapel time, Mass, the Angelus, Mid-day Balance, the Rosary, and grace before meals.

"The education of the moral conscience... cannot be renounced."
